Community Involvement
In 2014, MENTOR released a report titled The Mentoring Effect which gave voice to young people’s insights about the role mentoring plays in their lives. The report confirmed that mentoring has a significant impact that results in positive outcomes for young people involved. Mentoring connects them to networks of support and resources that allow them to reach for social and economic opportunity and succeed.
Unfortunately, one in three young people will grow up without a mentor. To close this gap, it will take everyone from parents, students and teachers to counselors, coaches and family friends – anyone who has a touch point in a young person’s life.
Girls Like Us Evolving, Inc. recognizes that community engagement is an undeniably critical part of ensuring that mentoring isn’t left to chance. Our organization participates in local school drives and community events. We are always looking to partner with businesses and other organizations to uplift our community. Our Mission: To provide no cost menstrual products those experiencing homeless or low-income disparity. We provide menstrual hygiene products to women and girls while educating and advocating to end the stigma of menstruation.
Your Donations Will Help Make it Possible
Your generous donations will allow us to buy the menstrual hygiene products we supply in our kits and distribute them to homeless women in the Washington D.C Metropolitan area (DC/MD/VA).

The weekend of August 7th we promoted sisterhood with our Inaugural GLUE Cookout. It was definitely something special. Being ourselves unapologetically and being authentically Girls Like Us Evolving!!!!

The 4th Annual Dance Fitness Event showcasing some of the HOTTEST MIXX of Dance Fitness Formats in the DMV area. It's a FREE VIRTUAL EVENT!
About this Event
Come GET LIVE w/ the 3 LIVE CREW of MIXXEDFIT as we virtually host our FOURTH ANNUAL "MIXXFEST" DANCE FITNESS EVENT! This fitness event will take place on Monday, January 18th at 10:00AM right from the comfort of your home! We had to do things a little differently this year due to the pandemic, but this will not stop us from Gettin' Live... virtually!
The purpose of this event is to showcase some of the HOTTEST dance fitness formats in the DMV area. Each instructor provides a different MIXX! From Hip Hop to Caribbean, GoGo to Bounce... there is surely something for everyone! It is absolutely FREE, and we welcome any donations received.

So many families have been affected by the current COVID-19 pandemic. Many have lost family members, employment and housing. As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches , we would like to be a source of support and inspiration to local families in need.
Girls Like Us Evolving, Inc. would like to give back to this holiday season. We will be providing Thanksgiving Dinner Baskets to five families this holiday season!
Register opens Sunday, November 1st and will end of Saturday, November 14th at 11:59 p.m.
If you are a family in need, who can benefit from a Thanksgiving Dinner Basket, please complete the registration form. If you know a family that can benefit, please share this flyer.
All families will be notified on Tuesday, November 17th that they have been chosen. Delivery will be discussed with each family individually.

GLUE will be holding their 3rd Annual Back-to-School Drive on Saturday, August 29, 2020. This year is with a twist due to COVID-19, this event will be a Grab N' Go to ensure all recipients remain safe and healthy. We will have 100 units of school supplies to give to our local Academic Scholars!
We are partnering with Drink Spizzy Teas & Smoothie Shop!
